- Sword and Scale
As a lifetime lover of Law and Order, Sword an Scale was the next best thing. Episodes average an hour and tell the best of the worst until series of tirtuege, murder and kidnapping. Sure to keep you awake at the wheel and on the treadmill. Some international stories that will keep you up at night snd some national stories with information you’d never see on the news. The stories are tastefully told with real 911 tapes and interviews. Not very suitable for young ears but hey, I like what I like, and I love Sword and Scale. check it out for yourself!
2. hey, girl.
If you’re looking for something a little lighter and uplifting and and a little less horrific hey, girl would be perfect. one of the writers I mentioned in She’s Got #BlackGirlMagic in her fingertips Alex Elle created this podcast with self-love and as positive self image in mind. Over beautiful music, Alex interviews friends and strangers about their lives and their journeys on a quest to find self-love. Overall her, girl is some feel good background noise that is sure to keep your spirits lifted no matter what you’re doing.
3. Friends Like Us
Yet again different from the other two podcasts friends like us is more light hearted and covers all thing pop culture though the eyes of women of color. with the longest episodes, pushing 2 hours a piece, this podcast is a mixture of comedy, realness and life lessons. The music is amazing there is a special guest for everyone. Friends Like Us even has an episode about Black Girl Magic, that’s a must! Who doesn’t love queens making power moves? Show some support and give them listen.
